Bath Jelly: A Recipe

(This adorable bath time photo is courtesy of Yogi. More of his great photos can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yogi/ . Thanks Yogi!)

Since the kids are home on summer break I thought I would post a recipe they could make with you.
  • 1 Pack unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 C liquid soap
  • 3/4 C water
  • Food coloring
  • Fragrance oil (optional)
  • jar with lid
Boil water & pour into a mixing bowl, add gelatin & mix until dissolved .
Add liquid soap into the gelatin & mix in the bowl.
Add 1-2 drops of food coloring & 1-2 drops of fragrance. Stir gently.
Pour mixture into storage container, refrigerate until set.
To use add a small amount under running water or scoop some out to use in place of soap while in the tub.

Unused jelly should be stored in the fridge & thrown out after 2 weeks to prevent mold.
